THE HERDADE

The Herdade das Altas Moras, before this name, was a village of the Late Middle Age, in the 15th century. Being a high point with houses, this place was known as Altas Moradias and, over time, it changed to Altas Moras. Even today, traces of these houses can be found in the property.

In 1850, Manuel Quaresma Limpo Pereira de Lacerda acquired the Herdade das Altas Moras, and was later entitled, by King D. Luis, Viscount of Altas Moras.

Still property of the Lacerda family, the Herdade das Altas Moras is now a Tourism in Rural Space located in Baixo - Alentejo, Beja district, Moura municipality.

The Herdade das Altas Moras is located in the Moura municipality, and is bathed by the water of the Alqueva Dam, being very close to the riverside villages of the Grande Lago. Thus, you can visit the beautiful and typical cities, towns and villages, such as Monsaraz, Mourão, Moura and Estrela.
