The Herdade das Altas Moras is located in the Moura municipality, and is bathed by the water of the Alqueva Dam, being very close to the riverside villages of the Grande Lago. The medieval village of Monsaraz, in Évora district and Reguengos de Monsaraz municipality, marked by lime and shale, managed to maintain its characteristics throughout the centuries. About the architectural patrimony of Monsaraz, we highlight the Medieval Castle and Medieval Tower, the building of the Old Court of the Audience (14th / 16th century) and the Mother Church of Our Lady of Lagoa (16th / 17th century).


The city of Moura, has, as main attractions,the Museum of Olive Oil, better known by Lagar de Varas, the Museum of Sacred Art and the Municipal Museum. The Castle is also considered one of the main points of visit in the city of Moura, such as its magnificent churches, the Arab well and finally, its fresh and colorful gardens.

A Igreja de S. Pedro, construída em 1674 é uma igreja de arquitectura simples mas no seu interior, o revestimento riquíssimo da igreja, é feito com azulejos de padrão seiscentista e azulejos setecentistas em tonalidades de azul e branco. É neste igreja que está presente o Museu de Arte Sacra que mostra a preciosa arte sacra alentejana.

Situada numa zona de incontestável valor olivícola, o azeite de Moura desde sempre figurou entre os melhores do Mundo. O Lagar de Varas do Fojo mostra-nos a evolução do sistema romano de produção de azeite até aos nossos dias.


Mourão has as its main attractions the many beautiful monuments such as the Castle of Mourão, the Urban Complex, the Mother Church of Our Lady of Candeias, the Chapel of Via Sacra, the Chapel of the Venerable Order of Terceira of S. Francisco, the Moorish Chimneys, the Ruins of the Convent of Our Lady of Purification and the Parish Church of São Brás.


Estrela,was geographically, socially and economically altered, as a result of the rise of the waters after the construction of the Alqueva Dam.

The Great Lake brought an added value to the extraordinary landscape that gave to the village an exceptional geographical setting.
